The Karhu Fusion 5.0 Men’s are neutral running shoes designed to offer cushioning, propulsion and a smooth ride during road training sessions. This new generation of the Fusion features a higher, softer platform, a redesigned Fulcrum and more dynamic geometry, with the aim of creating a versatile shoe suitable for everything from daily runs to faster training sessions and long-distance runs. The midsole utilises the new AeroFoam NOVA foam, which increases the stack height whilst maintaining a soft, cushioned ride, with a more noticeable bounce during the stride. The platform measures 33 mm at the heel and 27 mm at the forefoot, giving a 6 mm drop, whilst the Critical foam insole adds comfort underfoot and is designed to retain its cushioning properties over time. One of the distinctive features of the Fusion 5.0 is the new positioning of the three-quarter-length Fulcrum unit. This KARHU technology is designed to guide the foot forwards, minimising braking forces and harnessing the body’s natural energy to create a smoother transition. Together with the accentuated geometry in the forefoot area, this helps to make the push-off more energetic and gives greater continuity to the stride. The fit has been developed to strike a good balance between support and space. The midfoot remains well-encased, whilst the forefoot area offers greater freedom for the toes, making the shoe comfortable even as the mileage increases. The engineered upper completes the structure, offering comfort and support whilst running. Weighing 280 g, the Fusion 5.0 is positioned as a neutral daily trainer with a dynamic character: sufficiently cushioned to handle training sessions and long distances, yet featuring a geometry and Fulcrum system designed to offer a more propulsive response when you pick up the pace. |
