BONE CONDUCTION TECHNOLOGY

With over 500 patents, Shokz can undoubtedly be described as a pioneer in sports headphone innovation. Winners of major international awards, such as the 2018 Red Dot Design Award, Shokz’s bone conduction earphones are the perfect tool for those who want to train safely, but they are also ideal at home or in the office, as they allow you to hear ambient sounds whilst focusing on the rhythm of the music thanks to their ‘open-ear’ design.

We hear through bone conduction whilst eating, drinking, and even whilst speaking: this is why our voice sounds different from how we hear it in a recording or a video. We tend to perceive our voice as lower and more intense because the skull transmits low frequencies better than air.
Shokz harnesses natural bone conduction by integrating electromechanical transducers into its wireless earphones, which convert sound into vibrations transmitted directly to the inner ear via the skull bones, thereby bypassing the eardrum.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AEROPEX AND OPENRUN?

OpenRun, our sports headphones previously known as Aeropex, now come with new packaging, a fast-charging feature and a new name. The two main differences between Aeropex and OpenRun are that OpenRun features Bluetooth 5.1 whilst Aeropex features Bluetooth 5.0, and OpenRun has been updated with a fast-charging feature that Aeropex did not have.

CAN OTHERS HEAR YOUR MUSIC?

No, OpenRun sends vibrations to the inner ear via bone conduction technology. Although this is an alternative to traditional air conduction technology, leaving the eardrums open to the surrounding environment, it still offers a private listening experience.

IS OPENRUN WATERPROOF?

Yes, OpenRun has an IP67 water resistance rating; however, it is not recommended for scuba diving.
