The Altra Olympus 7 Women’s are trail running shoes designed to offer maximum cushioning, comfort over long distances and excellent grip on a wide variety of terrains. This new version builds on one of the most protective models in the Altra range with a softer, lighter construction, designed to handle long days on the trails, multi-hour training sessions, ultra-trails and hikes. The midsole utilises the new Altra EGO™ MAX, updated to be 15 per cent lighter and 10 per cent softer than the previous version. The 33 mm stack height offers a high level of cushioning, designed to maintain comfort and protection even as distance and time spent on the trails increase. The 0 mm Zero Drop geometry keeps the heel and forefoot at the same height, promoting the natural foot strike characteristic of Altra footwear. The Vibram® Megagrip sole with TractionLug™ technology ensures traction and stability on a variety of terrains, including both dry and wet surfaces. This design is particularly well-suited to long runs and varied routes, where grip and safety become essential as the kilometres go by. Great attention has also been paid to the comfort of the fit. The upper, made from breathable engineered mesh, is combined with a softer tongue and an integrated comfort collar, whilst moulded TPU reinforcements protect the most exposed areas and increase the shoe’s durability. The Original FootShape™ last provides ample space for the toes to move naturally, whilst maintaining adequate support in the midfoot area. Weighing 274 g, the Olympus 7 Women’s manages to combine a heavily cushioned platform with a decidedly low weight. It is a neutral shoe designed primarily for long trails, ultra-distances and hikes, when you need plenty of protection underfoot, a spacious fit and reliable grip to keep running comfortably even after many hours. |
