Speed and cadence sensors

The Garmin speed and cadence sensors allow you to accurately monitor key cycling metrics via a wireless, compact and easy-to-install system. The pack includes the second-generation speed sensor and the cadence sensor, which can be used with Garmin devices and compatible training apps via ANT+® and Bluetooth® Low Energy.

The speed sensor is fitted directly onto the wheel hub without the need for magnets or external components that need aligning. When paired with an Edge® cycle computer or a compatible Garmin device, it automatically calibrates itself and records data on speed and distance during your ride.

A particularly handy feature is the speed sensor’s ability to store data even when cycling without an Edge® or another compatible device. Once the connection is re-established, the recorded information can be synced with the device, allowing you to retain your ride data.

The cadence sensor, on the other hand, attaches to the crank arm and is compatible with crank arms of any size. Whilst cycling, it measures the number of revolutions per minute, allowing you to monitor your cadence and use it as a reference during training sessions and bike rides.

Thanks to dual ANT+® and Bluetooth® Low Energy connectivity, speed, distance and cadence can be transmitted in real time to compatible devices and training apps. The absence of magnets and parts that need aligning also makes both sensors easy to install, remove and transfer from one bike to another.
