The Altra Olympus 7 Men’s are trail running shoes designed to offer maximum cushioning, comfort over long distances and excellent grip on a wide variety of terrains. This new version builds on one of the most protective models in the Altra range with a lighter and softer construction, designed to support long days on the trails, multi-hour training sessions, ultra-trails and hikes. The midsole utilises the new Altra EGO™ MAX, updated to be 15 per cent lighter and 10 per cent softer than the previous version. With a stack height of 33 mm, it offers a high level of cushioning to maintain comfort and protection even as the kilometres and hours spent on the trails increase. The 0 mm Zero Drop geometry keeps the heel and forefoot at the same height, in keeping with the natural fit typical of Altra footwear. The Vibram® Megagrip with TractionLug™ outsole is designed to provide traction, stability and safety on a variety of surfaces, both dry and wet. This is a particularly important feature for a shoe intended for long distances, where terrain and surface conditions can change several times during a single run. The fit is also designed for long-lasting comfort. The upper, made from breathable engineered mesh, is combined with a softer tongue and an integrated comfort collar, whilst moulded TPU reinforcements enhance protection and durability in the areas most exposed to wear and tear. The Original FootShape™ last offers ample space in the forefoot to allow the toes to move naturally, whilst maintaining support in the midfoot area. Weighing 325 g, the Olympus 7 therefore prioritises protection, cushioning and durability over absolute lightness. It is a neutral shoe designed primarily for those who want to tackle long trails, ultra-distances and hikes with a soft, spacious and protective platform, coupled with reliable grip on a wide variety of terrains. |
